My '84 7 passenger has the old style coil but I had put the new style
distributor cap and wires on it.  In order to get good connection at the
coil, I had to wrap wire around the connector on the coil wire.


I now have a new style coil to put on but just haven't as yet.


For those wondering, the old style distributor caps and coils do not
have the post inside which the wire connectors fit over for positive
connection.
