Subject: Can I convert my power windows to manual?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

I've never had a problem with having to crank my windows up and down but my '91 Carat came with power windows so I had to accept them. Now the driver's side window has crapped out for the second time and I have little enthusiasm for spending for another unit and even less enthusiasm for having it crap out again when perhaps I'm in a severe rainstorm 500 miles from home. I'd like to cannibalize an earlier van for the "you crank it" parts and install them on my van. I think it should be possible but really don't know. Does anyone have any experience with this? As it is a genuine convenience to be able to operate the passenger window from the driver's position I would retain that - but of course it gets far less use than the driver's window so should last a lot longer. Oh, yeah, if anyone has the parts I'll need if this can be done please advise.

Anyone???
