Ok, so I got a battered and worn but serviceable Bentley to begin to
rebuild my engine-fire damaged '80 Westy.  And I must say, I am
really, really unimpressed with teh Bentley.  It assumes an awful
freakin' lot about what I am supposed to know already, and what tools
I am supposed to have.  Granted, the last "service manual" I had was
for a 1960 Ford Falcon, but it assumed next to nothing - to the point
of "now locate the three bolts on the starter motor housing, and
remove them using a 7/16 box wrench."  Bentley gives me a diagram
that is not entirely clear and on occasion a few cryptic notes.  Not
what I expected, and not terribly useful.

Ok, rant over for now.  So, as noted above, the manual specifies
several tool numbers, but gives no description, and in many cases no
picture.  So, I assume tool US 1076 is some sort of vacuum gauge.
Anyone have any recommendations for a more specific version of this?
Seems like I am going to be doing a lot of vacuum testing once I get
some things back together in the FI system.

Also - on a semi-related note - anyone know how to test a fuel
pressure regulator and cold start valve without having the car
actually running?  I am semi-assuming that the fire would have
damaged these two parts (esp. since the fire seems to have started
from a leak somewhere right about the cold start valve) but I'd like
to be sure before I plop money down on them.
