This takes me back to a thought I had before: making the canvas more like a tent -- almost all screen material with a 3-4" trip of ripstop nylon at the top and bottom. To keep the water out, a fly that installs on the outside.

Interesting stuff... I was looking for the cheap out of the cupboard or off the shelf version first but I might check this out.
