I live in Michigan so I certainly know what you are saying. There are times it is impossible to wash a vehicle in the winter - however there are also times when it can get done - car washes with the super powered dryer at the end help a bit. I know people who never wash their car at all during winter and then wonder why they rust out so quickly. I guess you'll never get all of the salt off but every little bit helps. I always try to wash mine when I can - I know it won't stop it but at least I feel it helps. My 85' has some of the typical rust issues but nothing compared to others I have seen - and nothing is rusted through.
