If you have to remove the battery for any reason, and it doesn't have a lifting handle installed, you can pick up a battery carrying strap from a FLAPS (Friendly Local Auto Parts Store) that's made of rubber and has metal eyes on each end that fit over the battery terminals. Those things make removing and installing batteries in Vanagons easy. Mike
