Well .. actually .. the question wasn't is butane different from propane .. that's pretty obvious .. the question was .. do they use propane or butane in Europe .. if you don't know that's fine .. don't fell compelled to tell me what you do know if it doesn't answer the question. BTW .. I lived in Winnipeg for years .. and I used to smoke .. I've used plenty of bic lighters at colder than -30 C or even -40 C (-40 C is about the same as -40 F). Anyway - the question is not the properties of butane vs. propane .. the question is what gas do westies use in Europe! And further .. if you ship a NA spec westy to Europe .. what do you need to do to use the gas that is available .. despite what you guys say .. I suspect it is simply the changing of an orifice in the appliance .. I know that furnaces and hot water tanks can be converted from propane burning to natural gas burning by simply change of orifice .. so, I suspect the same is true with propane vs. butane .. hmmm jdd ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael Elliott" <camping.elliott@GMAIL.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Saturday, April 21, 2007 8:22 PM Subject: Re: Tales from Europe and VW campers (part 7)
