$10 says you overfilled or liquid slugged the compressor and possibly destroyed. The other option is it is oil covered due to a leaky compressor seal and needs repair or replacement anyway. If you need to add refrigerant, you have a problem. It is not normal to add and especially when using r-134A, you really can't add relying on pressures to determine fill levels. You need to know, by volume or weight, how much refrigerant is in there. Later after running the AC for a while I saw full on smoke coming out of the clutch. Now after letting the clutch cool it won't stay the same speed as the engine. Anyone know if the clutch is a simple item to remove? I see tool kits for removing them so I assume I can't just remove the bolt and pull it off. I also am wondering if I have just lost a clutch or if this is indicative of a bigger problem. I have over 200K miles on the compressor and clutch; the compressor is noisy but it always has been and it cools fine.
Thanks,
