Don and Monte mentioned how well that color blended into the scenery. When I was searching for a VW westy 11 years ago I came upon my current van at my mechanics shop. At the time I was looking for a westy for a daily driver but it HAD to have AC. You could be pickier buying vans back then I guess. The problem was this one was that assuan brown with a big white racing stripe. My wife hated the color and I was not too happy about it and considered passing on this one. The mechanic was going to have it painted and I asked the painter if he would do white and he talked me out of changing the color. He even convinced me to let him re-paint the racing stripe. Fast forward to our first camping trip there the secret of the color was revealed to us. The bus blends right into the background in the woods. Very stealthy and unobtrusive. The color grew on us fast. Plus, this on one vehicle that you do not lose in the mall parking lot. I never got the AC working on that van. Bryan |
