I have a fuel pump switch in '81 non-Westy. I could use it as a kill/theft switch, but I don't. Who would steal my '81?

I installed it to deal with the bug in the FI system that floods the engine at 10,000' and 20 degrees F, like after skiing. I've written about that a couple of times; look in the archives.

Actually, I installed three switches, incrementally, trying to solve the problem. I thought it was the cold start injector needing more time "on" but that was exactly the wrong direction. A second switch to keep the cold start injector "off" didn't do the trick; the fuel pump switch did. Because this was experimental, I just ran the wires under the rubber mats, up under the rear seat and into the engine compartment via the deck lid. It has worked without problem for 10+ years.

In this photo, the fuel pump switch is the one on the right. Anyone dumb enough to try to steal my '81 would never figure these switches out, but I leave it "on" all the time anyway. http://jones.colorado.edu/jones/VW/VWfuelpumpswitch.jpg
