...Or am I just being weird thinking an overgrown shoebox ought to not "careen down the road" when it is windy?..I don't recall behavior like that with the old Michelins..or at least not such alarming behavior that it makes driving on a windy day a real chore rather than still somewhat fun..Gives new meaning to "white knuckle driving" trying to keep between the lines on a windy, trucky, crowded road.. Opinions? Comments? Don Hanson > Don, My opinion is you will notice sway in a vanagon, period. Better shocks, bigger wheels with wider tires will clearly make it better, but not eliminate it. It's a box, not a Porsche! Some differences will be noticed with different tread patterns. This assumes all are properly inflated with adequate load rating, which I assume would be OK with most "LT" rated tires. I say take 'em back if you don't like them. I would guess you would get a better ride on the road with a "less aggressive" tread pattern as more rubber is on the road, so short of going to 15" or 16" wheels and tires, pick a different tread pattern.
