VW didn't use great paint, did they? Besides their color choices, I mean. You'd think silver would be a fairly easy paint to do correctly, but their silver as used around that same time period...has anyone ever seen any silver VWs that aren't all dull and faded? The Pumpkin Orange is another distinctively VW Van color and their special Westy yellow... The latest VW Kid-Car paint color preference seems to be Black. See lots of Black fart-can exhaust equipped, 22" wheeled "Fast and Furious" car clones zipping around now...Always wound up to at least 6 grand, even in the parking lots of Circuit City... Went to a dyno session once with my Porsche racecar and watched one of the young enthusiasts there do a 340hp 'pull' with like a 2 liter motor..Impressive numbers, but pretty 'close to the edge' with big boost...Black car, of course.. Turd-brown" someone called it..That is a distinctive 80s VW color, isn't it? My 84 is that color and I am growing to really like it.

Assuan brown. otherwise known as "Asswipe brown" or turd brown, or other derivatives referring to excrement.

only offered on the '80-'84 westys. thank god.
