Some of the rigs I see, especially the "Snowbirds" that flock to the Arizona and California deserts during the cold months, many are so large and complex that they don't really fit onto two lane highways. Of course, they don't admit that, they blame the highway for being "too small" rather than their vehicle train for being too big... We spend some time near popular LA/San Diego Off Highway Vehicular Recreation Areas...and boy, those guys are REALLY fixated on their "stuff" I have even seen Vanagons in tow as "second cars" behind huge busses..painted in the same Swoopies and color scheme...On weekends, when the motorheads flock over the mountains into the deserts, it is best to stay clear of the highways..Some of them have no clue that they may be driving 15 or 20 TONS of vehicle and may not be able to stop going down some of the steep passes they use, "to save time"..
