Subject: Am I overheating? Temp gun question.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

I posted a week or so ago about an overheating '86 Westy... Thanks for all who've responded.

I read just under 3/4 on temp guage and holding steady even under load. The temp gun seemed to tell me that all was well in the system with readings right around 175 to 200F out to radiator and around 100F coming into engine.

A new radiator fan switch and temp sender have gone in, but the fan hasn't come on yet.

The oil pan read about 175F, but one of the heads was reading about 210 to 214F; the other about 205F. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

Is there a way to calibrate the temp gage?

Thanks.

Jobe
