Basically, you have an idle air control valve and a controller. Of course, both after thought add on. The controller is located in front of the right side tail light. It has inputs for engine speed, temperature, AC and power steering loads. It provides a fast idle for warm up and then regulates it to stabilize the idle as the O2 sensor system and other loads cause the idle to fluctuate. It does this by varying the current to the valve. In order for it to work, you have have all the base line settings properly adjusted. You will need to do some diagnostics to sort it out.
