Just a thought, why not convert the cigar lighter as the kill switch.
Pushed in to start (closing the loop) and pulled out or removed to
disable.
        On second thought, the long term reliability just isn't there
for using it as a starting block, however, it could be used for other
purposes.  Hey! How about lighting cigars....
