It is not just a matter of disconnecting the terminal. The battery will need to be loose in the compartment in order for you to rearrange that cable. Please please PLEASE disconnect the GROUND cable on the battery before fiddling with the positive cable. Ground is always the last thing to be connected. I've watched as a 10 gauge cable glowed red hot when the positive was shorting.
