Chris,

Warm the engine, shut it off. Disconnect the clip at the end of the idle stabilizer valve - that cylindrical thing right on to p of the engine with the clip and wire on the end. Remove that clip, restart the engine, check the idle. If your engine smooths out and idles steadily, your Idle Stabilizer circuit has a fault. Could be the valve on top of the engine or the box behind the right hand tail light. All this is dependent on the Temp sensors working correctly. It the Temp sensors have a fault, then this little ISV test may not be accurate.
