Are VW wasserboxers mechanically noisy? I've never been in a vehicle fitted with one.

I found that my 84 Caravelle GL was really pretty quiet, certainly not needing any extra deadening. That was running a 3.8-liter V6. I'm hoping that when the SVX conversion is finished, it'll be as quiet. Mind, I do want an exhaust growl... -- Regards Andrew
