Subject: 2.1 overheating/Heads questions...need input
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Hello All:

A few years back my 1990 Carat had overheating problems. I came across a deal on a rebuilt 2.1 engine and had it installed...and stored the overheating one.

I need to put the old engine back into service (it has about 50k on it) and I'm looking at having the heads and gaskets replaced...hoping this fixes the overheating I was experiencing awhile ago.

My question is...Are there any seals at the top of the pistons...or anything else that should be checked/replaced while I'm having the heads done that could have added to the overheating problem?

Suggestions appreciated....

Cheers! Kevin
