Hmmm.

It looks like it might not be VW. Is there a VW part # on it?

It reminds me of the aftermarket voltage reducers you used to put in an old 6 Volt beetle when you converted it up to 12 volts, but still wanted to use 6 volt accessories like the radio and wiper motor.

My next guess would be a fancy static reducer for the radio.

All the above are guesses to pass some time. Let's see what the experts say.

Any indication on the thing who made it? A part number?

My guess is if you pull it out all of our busses will stop running ;)
