Thanks for the tip--this worked great. It's worth adding for future readers
that you have to test the spark on the coil wire, not the spark plug wires,
as the distributor isn't turning while you do it.

My problem was on the sender side; not the sender itself, but the tiny wires
attached to the pins; one was off.

Please note - During the past 17 years of operation, several gigabytes of Vanagon mail messages have been archived. Searching the entire collection will take up to five minutes to complete. Please be patient!
