Thanks for the added the information on this. I was curious what the function on the trailer light magic box was.

Incidentally I responded early to this thread knowing I had seen something like the mystery part before and wracking my brain coming up with a 12-6 volt converter (?). I knew I had seem something like it, but couldn't remember where. Was it a static supressor?

Now that you guys have pointed out what it is I remember where I saw one. IT'S ON MY VANAGON UNDER THE REAR APRON, where it's east to see it's function as it's still wired up to the trailer plug from the previous owner. DOH!
