In the late 80s a friend of mine used to purchase a well-kept 71 Westy,
drive it to Provincetown on Cape Cod, drive it for the summer while he
worked, and then sell it.  For the five years he was in school he always
was able to pay for a plane ticket home and spending money for the summer...
