So, I pulled my fuel tank to today to flush some schmutz out of it. What perversion those VW engineers trafficked in! THat tank venting system is downright stupid. At any rate, I was putting things back together (please tell me the sender plug goes toward the driver side) including a fuel filter clamp that I acquired from a fellow listee. I've never had one until now because I've never had a stock fuel filter. At any rate, I am baffled by this clamp. I've found the two slots in the chassis rail in which the clamp mounts but I'm at a loss as to how it actually fixes securely to the slots. I'm thinking that the clamp ends are deformed. Here's a picture or two: http://picasaweb.google.com/mmordo/VANAGONFUELFILTER Can anyone enlighten me?
