Cunegonde came with an Olympus Catalytic Propane Heater. This is an IF heater - functions like heatlamp. It requires an additional fan to permit convection, as well as radiant heat. The PO had also left us a 12V clip-n fan for this purpose. The LP extension hose had all ready been led off a "T" from the stove LP line. I had to add a safety valve so the heater could be disconnected with the main LP flowing (!). The hose leads out of the undersink cabinet. I'm adapting a bracket for the heater to mount on the front table support. The heater and hose fit in cabinet for storage. The Olympus kept 2 people warm at medium setting on windy 40 degree nights with the poptup up. I assume the canvas is leaky enough to prevent any carbon monoxide concerns. But a CO alarm will be installed just the same. -- Bretts 1983 1.9l WBX Ivory Westfalia "Cunegonde" |
