My old one was finicky. It helps when they are completely empty to get them started filling. The valve is designed with to airlock or something. So what worked good for me was to open the bleeder valve all the way before they touch the van. That way, you know it is open enough to elmininate the pressure valve from locking it from filling. Many times, they open that bleeder a little but not enough. Then once it is filling, they can close down the bleeder some.
