Subject: No spark -- Ignition Control Unit?

Hi folks,

I just changed the wiring harness on my 1.9 and now there isn't any spark. All the pins in the ECU test good according to Bentley, coil tests good per Bentley, and there's power to the Ignition Control unit (Hall control.)

Still, there's no spark.

The voltage test across the coil, from 1 to 15, is negative--it doesn't jump then fall back when ignition is turned on. Also there's no voltage drop when grounding out the middle terminal to the Hall sender (it stays near battery voltage.) And the voltage between outside pins of the distributor connector is low, 2.1 volts when Bentley says 5 v minimum. This is all Bentley 28.36-37.

All these tests were good a couple of months ago.

Replace the Hall Control (as per Bentley?)

Or could I have screwed something up in changing the harness? It was an '85 harness that required a few splices to fit my '84. Is there some wire that, if not connected right, would cause these symptoms?
