There was some discussion of this on the list a couple of years ago. I found a vendor that suggested using 2 different lifts for the best combination of ease of closing and holding power/durability. I have been very satisfied with this solution/choice of lifts. I strongly recommend avoiding the brands that are sold for a much cheaper price at your local nation-wide FLAPS. They have a very short lifespan and no warranty-Bonk! I lubricate both ends and check for leaks. If I can locate a model or brand for mine I will post it for the list. I have been very satisfied with my lifts.

Anyone have suggestion on gas tubes that should hold rear door up.

They don't seem to survive cold winters.

Are there preferred quality/types/brands recommended for replacement?

Care of future units?
