Might be as simple as the drum hitting the backing plate due to a rust ridge or brake dust maybe loose parts inside. It is normal for there to be some slight side to side moment of the drum. Of course the hub nut and bearings should be checked. If the drum was ever pried off, the backing plate may also be bent. Too far away on one side means to close 90 degrees away.
