Subject:      Early-Late Vanagon Westy interior dimension difference?

On washing Popul, the '85 Westy (amazing how much dust/mud can be
hidden in those brown carpets...), I noticed that it appears that the
westy stove/sink cabinet appears to cover a bit more of the seatbelt
pillar than in my '82 westy.

I was curious if there are small dimension differences between the
cabinets of different years?

On the '85 westy the stove/sink cabinet overlaps and covers 2/3rd
of the seatbelt roller.

On the '82 Westy the roller sits completely free, in front of the cabinet
end.

In each case the cabinet abuts the metal box on which the seat is mounted.
Those boxes are slingtly different, since there is no battery on either side
in the
82 Diesel. (the lid is much smaller and wouldn't fit a battery.

So could it be that the length of a '85 interior is just a few centimeters
different from an '82? This I was thinking would be annoying for those who
swap an interior from van X to van Y.
