For those of you thinking about adding Westy interiors to your open floor plan:  One thing that really helped me when I did my 84 was the fact that I went and removed the interior that I bought from the donor vehicle.  Not only did I save on shipping, but I really knew how to put it all back in.  Yeah, the Bently book is helpful ..But, knowing that 'this piece fits this way into that piece because YOU took it apart..that is a big advantage.  Well worth the "extra" time to go get your "new" interior out yourself because you will probably save it back on the re-install.

  Also, being a cabinet maker and a boat builder, I certainly could have done a custom interior in my van, but for a measly $300 bucks, (that's what I got my interior for) it would NOT have been much.  The Westy interior is very cost effective..Yah, they could have used some nicer materials, but it is just fine for use as is..  I may eventually spruce up the stock interior a bit..but the fit and function, as is,  is as good as anything I could come up with on my own, unless I had unlimited time and money to do a "Perfect" job.
