Ditto on the inside fill---you can see what you are doing and also check for fuzzy stuff living in the tank. My fill hose had a small leak and contributed to some floor rust as well. Am I missing something here or was there a rash of RV water tank poisonings during the 80s that prompted VW to put a lock on the the filler? KGB? Or were wanton criminals siphoning water OUT of RV tanks?
