HI DOn, That was me.... thanks for the MPG feed back.....I thought you would get some good milage out of that setup. When my inline swap give up the ghost, I'm going to do a major rebuild, and make several changes. The cam will be added to the list.

Mixed driving, about half and half town and country without any special effort to conserve fuel. Cruising speeds of around 70 mph. One tank was 23.8 and one 24.2. > The new camshaft was $129 from AutoTech and was a snap to install. It's said to add about ~15hp, using a mild 270degree duration and moderate lift. It seems to have improved mid to upper mid range power delivery without messing up anything else. Hills I used to be slowed on are no longer slowing me down. > So, there's lots of talk about Subie transplants, and the Tiico. On the main Vanagon list page, there is a post about inline 4 transplants. In my limited experience with Vanagons, only had mine for about 8 months, I have been quite impressed with this particular configuration..Cheap, economical to drive, a bit more 'poop' (according to the figures I have seen) than a WBX motor and really simple to work on..I was at a German auto wrecking yard recently and the cost of the 8-valve digifant motors is incredibly low...less than I spend for one bicycle wheel, for example.. > something to consider, if your WBX motor is giving you problems. > Don Hanson > > > >
