i have found that the group 42 battery works better in a westy than a group 41...

the westys battery box has less space because of the tin around it and the swival seat base so the group 42 works better as its smaller in size.. the 41 and the 42 both have sunken posts and terminal shields, theyre both good choices for the vanagon.

i use group 41 batteries in all my passenger vans, and group 42 in all my westys
