i think thats what i'll do... my aunt did this to her ford pickup truck bed and it matches the exterior color as well...

ps: there was a rear tailgate option for the millitary doublecabs where the rear tailgate actually had cutouts with glass inlays in them so the truck could be driven with the tailgate down and the taillights could show thru.. (its actually in ETKA - look it up...)

of course it also covered the lisc plate so it wouldnt be too legal..
