I just read the rest of the thread and never realized that so many people shopped at the big box parts stores.. Kregan, Pepboys, Shucks. We have a Shucks in town and it's my store of last resort. Bemidji MN had 3 real parts stores, Shelton WA has 2 but Olympia is not that far away. Lot's of real parts stores in the Olympia area, there are even real foreign parts stores! Places that know what a VW is. All the local parts stores here (and in Bemidji) had lot's of friendly people, they even know what they are doing. Shucks? Reasonably friendly for the most part and not too bad as long as they can find what you want in the computer (try telling the guy at the Shucks counter that you want one of those donut exhaust washers that VW's use <g>), the cost is a bit more for most things but I know that when I walk in the door.
