There are very few local part places in my neck of the woods - and the ones that are here are full of the types of people who want to string you up for not driving "American Steele". I think it's a bit or residual from the Motor City hey day still. Either way I always go to my local import guy Dieter first. He's a good guy who has never steered me wrong. Sometimes his parts can cost a bit more but I don't mind. He is local, knowledgeable, and straight from the VW mother land. I alwasy price compare between Dieter and the online vendors. If I can't wait for a part to be ordered I'll go to Autozone or Advanced Auto. The Advanced Auto by Brien Dews place saved my butt wih a starter for my 90' - asked if they had it on Sat night and they had it there the next day from another store.

-- Thanks,

Jeff 90' Carat (It's Blue, It's Beautiful. Now sporting a very unstylish brown interior taken from the parts bus) 86' (We call this one Parts) 85' GL (Sidelined and feeling neglected)
