Only use these filters:

Mann: W719/12 Mahle/Knecht: OC108

The 719/5 (Mahle OC 47) is for the inline 4 Gasoline Rabbits, Sciroccos, Jettas and Dashers and does NOT have the Anti Drain Back Valve the correct Vanagon filters have. They do look similar though, from the outside.

So, the 719/5 is not the same.

Also, I wouldn't recommend the Bosch equivalent because they are essentially made in the same factory as the Fram equivalent, which for quite some time on this list has attained a very poor reputation, specifically a drop in oil pressure - not good for the Wasserboxer :-)

Bosch and Fram filters do make great paperweights ;-D -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 73 K Ghia Coupe "Denise" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com *********************************** On 5/17/07, william landsman <unclebeer@hotmail.com> wrote: > > Hello All in VW land, > > I have a question about oil filters. > > First off does anyone know of a dealer in Huntington Beach that sells Mann > filters (pn 719/12).
