Subject: Rear table leg holding bracket
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

I bought a brand new rear table and leg for my 89 Westy, and the thing does not sit very level. I was paging through the Samba ads today and came across this particular ad for table brackets: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=455699

Looking at the picture of the bracket, it appears there is a protrusion on the lower bracket that fits inside table leg to keeep it straight. My lower bracket has no such protrusion, although it doesn't appear anything is broken or missing. So, question is: is there different designs between earlier and later table leg brackets? I know there were differences in terms of how they mounted to the underside of the table, but what about the lower bracket? I thought that the table was supposed to be adjustable for height as well as horizontal movement, but perhaps it's designed to be used at one particular height? What's the scoop here? Is there perhaps supposed to be some kind of bracket midway up (between top and bottom bracket) that's missing on my van?

Troy
