I have a 1980 262C Bertone Coupe. Just like all other older Volvo 264s it's built like a tank, except the roof is a couple of inches lower.

It took a small flying stone commonly seen on California road to have it totaled. Well, it did not total it immediately. It took a few years to get it done. It did crack the windshield first.

After that it managed to leak coolant into the oil pan. Then the whole engine fell apart. The Chassis still looks like a new car. You probably won't believe it. It cost $20k in 1980. It has a V6 wasserbox engine in it. Sorry this is the only Vanagon content in this post.
