Mark,

There is more of a crown there than appears. I suspect that you might be able mount a rack using the 1A towers but if it cleared the roof it would be by so little that you would not be able to install anything. While this is just a guess on my part as I have not tried this, I do use a Yakima rack on my GL with the 1A Hi-Rise and also have 1A regular towers from other vehicles I have owned, so am familiar with the issue.

Hopefully someone whom has tried will pitch in on this.
