Recently I noticed a metallic 'clack' noise when closing the side door just before the rear edge of the door starts to pull in toward the body. I think that what has happened is that the sliding mechanism used to have some sort of rubber bumper on a stop part at the forward end of the track. And that rubber bumper part has fallen off - hence the 'clack' as the door finally closes. And yes I'd like to fix this. So I decide if I can take the cover off of the sliding track on the side, so I can see what's up. I've removed the two phillips head screws that hold the cover on from the bottom and I think that's all there is in the way of fasteners. My problem is how to get the cover off without damaging it. I have in hand a new length of plastic beading to replace what's there. Is there a trick to getting the cover off? TIA John Graham 88 Westy - Hathaway Charlotte, NC |
