My hardwood floor project is almost done, except for the molding, which is no problem. I need to know where or how to obtain the L-shaped metal edging strip that covers the bare edge of the plywood underlayment at the sliding door. Since the floor is now 8 mm thicher than it was, the side of the metal edging is now too short. Would a new edging have to be custom made, or is it readily available for purchase somewhere? The one I have is a galvanized material, and not very attractive. I'd like to have something new looking. Or should I just put it back exactly where it was, over the original gray rubber floor covering, and then attempt to hide the top of it with wooden molding? The flooring doesn't get fastened with glue of screws, so it would be very easy to remove it to put back the metal edging strip. Thanks. Patti |
