I got some gasket stuff at autozone today. They have SOOO many gasket compounds, and im assuming they are all pretty much the same, but reached for "Thermostat housing and waterpump sealant", i was amazed they had something specific to a thermostat housing......but it sounds good....so i put it on, and i'm giving it 24 hours and hoping for the best before refilling. The next step is to make a gasket out of some gasket material i have AND use "The right stuff" (which came to mind and i looked for at autozone.....guess i'll have to find a NAPA). I appreciate the sugestions and help so far! I hope you all have a wonderful day! -Craig '85GL (my dream for 2 years has been to drive my vanagon to the last day of highschool of my senior year (a week away) and follow that with a camping trip. I'm so close....) |
