I maintain my oil levels (three 1.9 Vanagons) BETWEEN the min and max marks on the stick. If I fill to the max mark I seem to get some oil frothing which isn't good. My Vanagons like me better when I don't fill them all the way. Mike '84 GL 7 pass '84 GL Westy '85 GL Westy
