How old are your plug wires? How are your grounds? Replace every spade connector you can touch in the engine compartment. Sounds like something electrical. I've got an '81 and all the wiring gets pretty brittle after 26 years of heat and vibration. Actually my wife's '86 is worse because of all the salt it's seen.
