Yesterday, while rocketing down the freeway and into somewhat hilly terrain, I found myself repeatedly having to reach over to twist the AC thermostat to "off" in order to maintain a speed of 75mph when going uphill. After the fourth or fifth time, it occurred to me that it would be handy if the full throttle enrichment switch would also disengage the AC compressor clutch. Of course, since the Digifant full throttle switch does double duty as the "no throttle" switch, it wouldn't work to just scab onto it with a relay. It wouldn't have been all that hard for VW to have done it through the ECU, but that's water under the bridge. I'll have to figure out a place to mount a microswitch.
