Hi John,

It takes a lot of force to get that out of the groove sometimes. I usually hit it with a hammer.

Well, not exactly. What I do is place a softwood 1x6 under the cover and then hit THAT with a hammer. The wood cushions the blow and makes sure that nothing is dented.
