I personally think it's shameful that in the past 30 years our combustion technology has focused on getting 300hp (ridiculous for a passenger car IMO) while MPG has remained virtually unchanged.

I have used E85 in my vanagon on occassion BTW. If you have trouble passing an emmissions test, putting some E85 in there will have the technicians kicking their $50k machines trying to figure what's wrong. It's actually pretty fun :-)
